Kate & Mark, a Rainy, Riverside Wedding in Stratford Upon Avon.

Kate & Mark, a Rainy, Riverside Wedding in Stratford Upon Avon.

A rainy, riverside wedding at Stratford Upon Avon Boat Club. Essex Documentary Wedding Photographer.

Kate & Mark’s big day was my annual outing to Stratford Upon Avon this year! It’s funny how I’ve shot in this gorgeous place at least once a year for the past three years so I was very happy to be back! Kate & Mark’s day was very much a family affair, both chose to prep at home (Mark in their home and Kate at her Mum’s) and to hold their ceremony in their local church. The morning dawned bright and warm and it was glorious all the way through the church service and still held out for the new Mr & Mrs once everyone had arrived at The Boat Club on the river through Stratford Upon Avon. The couple had decked out a gorgeous marquee and guests enjoyed drinks and canapés by the riverside! We’d got all their group shots in the bag when an almighty black cloud came out of nowhere complete with thunder and lightening, so, we ditched the planned portraits for an early wedding breakfast whilst the weather did its worst! As luck would have it, the rain had slowed to something more workable after everyone had eaten and so we ventured out for a little portrait session utilising some fab puddles and an umbrella, it just goes to proove that the weather wont stop proceedings and can be used to our advantage to get some lush portraits! Yes to rainy days! After some fabulous speeches, the sun came back out and everyone basked in a glorious summer evening, dancing and eating pizza before we left the party to head home! Thanks so much for having us Kate & Mark, it was an absolute pleasure to document your wonderful day!

Kaye & Chris, a Boho, Back Garden Tipi Wedding, Bride wears Willowby by Watters

Kaye & Chris, a Boho, Back Garden Tipi Wedding, Bride wears Willowby by Watters

Kaye & Chris & their boho, back garden tipi wedding! Essex Documentary Wedding Photographer.

Kaye and Chris were another of my summer scorchers! They chose to hold their wedding in Kaye’s Dad’s back garden, and, when you see how beautiful it was, you’ll know why! When we arrived, it already had a very informal and relaxed feel with the Tipis and the stunning aisle already set up and looking so perfect! Its not every wedding where the Groom and his entourage get dressed outside simply because it was so hot everywhere else! Kaye prepped in the house and looked breathtaking in her backless Willowby by Watters gown, then she walked down the aisle (created by enormous crates of flowers, grown with care months before the big day by her Step-Mum!) and the couple had the loveliest of ceremonies. A very hot afternoon followed with such a lovely festival vibe, guests enjoyed simply delicious food and some really good speeches! As the evening set in, the kids (and the big kids!) kicked a football around and there was some bubble blowing but when the band got started, the party really got into full swing! Kaye & Chris, your wedding was simply a delight to document and I wish you a wonderful future together!

Blush Pink, English Manor House Wedding at Parklands, Quendon Hall. Bride wears Ellis Bridals.

Lucy and Michael were wed in July during the crazy heatwave we had this Summer! They chose Quendon Hall as their venue and it looked glorious in the Summer sun. Everyone got ready in the morning at the venue, Quendon is big enough to house everyone without the worry the Bride and Groom will bump into each other! After a lovely ceremony, guests enjoyed the sun in the grounds and the kids enjoyed dipping their feet in the fountain on the lawn, whilst I took the newlyweds off for some portraits. After their meal and speeches, we were treated to some stunning evening light which we took advantage of with a second round of portraits before a confetti canon First Dance started the party off with a bang!

Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Preece, such a gorgeous day!

Kate & Eddie, a Boho, Festival, Back Garden, Summer Wedding. Bride wears Charlie Brear. Essex Documentary Wedding Photographer

Kate & Eddie got in touch last year to see if I was free to document their wedding, which, sadly, I was booked up for.  Luckily for them though, 2018 was to be the year that the awesomeness that is Sarah joined team Three Flowers as an associate photographer!  Having already second shot for me for a couple of years, I knew she'd be invaluable as a lead shooter and I'd then edit her shots in my signature style.  Team work, nailed!  Kate & Eddie's day dawned during that mega heatwave we had in July, and also on the day of England's word cup quarter final (you'll see some epic guest reactions here!) so it was absolute perfection for a wedding in Kate's parents back garden at their farm.  The humanist ceremony took place under an exquisite floral arch by Tangle & Thyme whilst the guests looked on from hay bale seating and afterwards guest enjoyed fabulous food from Alice McLaren Catering whilst they soaked up the rays and roared England into the World Cup Semi! Now if thats not Summer Wedding perfection, I don't know what is!  Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs Costelloe, and thank you so much for having Sarah along to document your day, I know she had an amazing time and I certainly loved editing it for you!

Amanda & Richard, a glamorous, blush pink and sequin, Stock Brook Manor Summer Wedding.

A glitzy, glamorous Stock Brook Manor Wedding, Bride wears Sophia Tolli & Jimmy Choo.

Well, what can I say about Amanda & Richard's wedding?!  The couple chose Stock Brook Manor to host their celebration and the day just happened to co-incide with a certain England World Cup Quarter Final and, it turned out to be slap bang in the middle of the crazy heatwave we had this Summer! I'm not sure if those two factors led to the huge party atmosphere that day, as I suspect Amanda & Richard just know how to show their friends and family a really great time! And boy, did they! With stunning florals from Luxe by Little Tin Shed, Amanda in a an exquisite Sophia Tolli gown and Richard in a tux, they'd certainly set a glamorous scene, and, after a sun drenched outdoor ceremony, the party started to the amazing vocals of Che Chesterman of X-Factor fame.  The newlyweds gave me some time after the ceremony for a few portraits on the golf course and in the grounds before they all headed upstairs for food and some very emotive speeches! Then the real party started! It was such a pleasure to see so many people hitting the dance floor hard from the very first song and Amanda and I literally had to drag Richard from the dance floor for some sunset portraits (and boy I'm glad we did as you'll see, their perfect day, ended with some perfect golden light!).  A truly memorable day Mr & Mrs Burling, I think your happiness shines through in these images!  Thanks so much for having us!

Beth & Scott, a relaxed, fun-filled wedding at Ratsbury Barn. Bride wears Mori Lee

Beth & Scott, a relaxed, fun-filled wedding at Ratsbury Barn. Bride wears Mori Lee

Rustic June wedding at Ratsbury Barn with mini-golf, lawn games and a cake made by the Bride! Beth wears Mori Lee.

Beth and Scott's wedding was back in June, somewhere at in the middle of this Summer's heatwave!  They chose the gorgeous backdrop of Ratsbury Barn to have their ceremony, and it was beautiful - outdoor in the barns doorway with family and friends looking on.  Afterwards they enjoyed the stunning weather and played crazy golf and other lawn games before a relaxed buffet meal and sharing their incredible wedding cake (made by the talented bride!) for dessert.  I was in my element with the grounds as they made from some astounding portraits though Beth and Scott made it a genuine pleasure by simply being themselves.  Around late afternoon, we all moved onto the evening party which was held in a family friends garage (though more like aircraft hanger!) and had been artfully decorated by the couple, along with an outdoor bar and pizza oven! Once everyone was settled (and after a few more sunset portraits in a nearby field) the celebrations was started by The Normans and after some dance floor action, I left the newlyweds to party the night away!  No sit down meal, no formal speeches, just two families and their friends coming together to celebrate love in exactly the way Beth and Scott wanted! Gorgeous!

Jennie & Giorgos, A blush pink, Spring Barn Wedding at Blake Hall, Ongar

Jennie & Giorgos, A blush pink, Spring Barn Wedding at Blake Hall, Ongar

Blush Pink, Spring Barn wedding at Blake Hall. Bride wears Maggie Sottero.

Jennie & Giorgos met at Uni when Giorgos gallantly got Jennie a chair when she arrived late to a lecture!  After 3 years together, Giorgos took Jennie back to Parliament Hill where they had their first date and, over a picnic surrounded by the views over London, he proposed! The couple chose the always beautiful Blake Hall to celebrate their wedding and Jennie opted for a Blush Pink colour to compliment the Spring gardens.  The couple were surrounded by family and friends from far and wide so there was a very joyous feel to the occasion, with a lot of laughing and some hilarious speeches (accompanied by some embarrassing photos in the Best Mens' speeches!).  An absolute pleasure to document a really beautiful day! Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Georgiou!

Jessica & Jason, Dove Grey & Greens with Classic Simplicity at Gaynes Park, Epping. Bride wears Pronovias.

Classic simplicity with Dove Grey and Greenery at Gaynes Park.  Bride wears Pronovias.

Jessica and Jason had a simply stunning wedding day at Gaynes Park in May.  The couple met through friends at a bar and after 9 years, Jason planned a surprise trip to the Amalfi coast where, he hired a yacht, read poetry and then proposed (followed by a private dinner in a cove! Who said romance is dead?!).  Jess's style was so classic and simple, choosing dove grey for her bridesmaids with a lot of greenery in her florals, sometimes less is just SO more! On the day the weather was outstanding and guests enjoyed the gardens whilst tucking into canapés and pimms, listening to Dotted Crotchets (who played a very memorable Teenage Dirtbag!) before being treated to a delicious meal by Galloping Gourmet.  All the after dinner speeches were hilarious with lots of encounters of Jess and Jason's youth being retold and we were lucky enough to get a glorious sunset which we took full advantage of!  The evening kicked off with cake cutting, a donut wall, pizzas and popcorn and these guys sure knew how to party!  What a wedding! Congratulations to Jess & Jason, what a day to remember!
