I met up with Nicola and Russell a few weeks before the big day, and, after hearing all the plans they'd made, I left feeling really excited about capturing it for them, it sounded so beautiful! The week leading up to the wedding was glorious, un-seasonally hot and sunny, but Saturday was forecast rain all day! On arrival at Nicola's parent's house, it was so far, so good - the rain had held off. The girls were busy getting hair and make up done whilst enjoying a few glasses of fizz!
Then, it was over to meet the boys who, now ready, were having a nerve-calming drink at the pub over the road!
Nicola and Russell chose to get married at All Saints Church in Writtle, over the road from where Nicola grew up, it really is a beautiful church and we were gifted with perfectly positioned sunlight throughout the ceremony. After a lovely ceremony, we went on to Blake Hall for the reception to enjoy more gorgeous surroundings. The Barn was so beautifully decorated with dancing fairy lights, soft pastel blooms to compliment the bridesmaid's pretty mint Ted Baker dresses and the guests drank Pimms and Traditional Lemonade from Mason jars to complete the Rustic vibe. Blake Hall also boasts a glorious walled flower garden and, as the forecast rain had still held off, we headed over there for what I think are just the prettiest couples portraits ever!
After dinner, the heavens opened but it didn't matter as the fabulous Clint's Jazz Band got the party started and after Nicola and Russell shared their first dance, I left them to dance the night away!
